Synopsis: The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has been trialled in Newcastle and is currently under review for its sustainability and practicality. Discussions will take place in Newcastle over the next two days with people involved in the NDIS trial. Since the beginning of the trial last July, concerns have been raised about the future closure of the Stockton residential centre. Kathy Webb NDIS manager for Lifestyle Solutions on 1233 this morning told Jill Emberson, “We are going to talk through the practicalities to make this system as functional as possible.”
